June 20, 2009
Issue 20 is coming along well, and will be launched in July. There will be a brand new website up along with issue 20. It will still feature the digital versions of past and current issues, but will also have more content posted between issues.
The issue will feature: Disappearer, City Of Ships, My Heart To Joy, Beware of Safety, Quieting Syrup, a retrospective on Majority Rule "Emergency Numbers" and more.
So for those keeping score at home, 2009 has brought me a new city, new job, and now a new issue and a new website all before the middle point of the year. This whole "recession" can fuck right off. Wall Street will hopefully stay gone, but New Scheme Industries is set for a serious comeback.

Issue #19 has finally been posted for download, along with the new edition of the New Scheme Mixtape. The new issue features: AVAIL 4AM Friday oral history, DEVO, Pygmy Lush, Mammoth Grinder, The Catalyst, AU and more.
If you don't wish to download the issue, you can view it online anytime. That link is below the download link for issue #19. The rest of the issues will follow shortly.
This is the last issue of the New Scheme that will be printed, at least for the forseeable future. Future issues will be more regular, with the digital mixtape included in the download. Very little else is completely decided right now.

Wha' Happened?
The New Scheme is a small, self-published magazine that's predominantly about music. A new issue is released every three months (or so).
How can I get a copy?
Back issues, and subscriptions are both available in the below in the order section.
How did this all come to be?
When I was fifteen I started a tiny zine called Midget Breakdancing Digest. MBD was fully operational from 1997 until early 2000. I killed MBD for a number of reasons, and The New Scheme was born not long after.
How can I get my record, zine, etc. reviewed in The New Scheme?
Send it, along with any pertinent info, and it will be considered for review in the next possible issue.
What do you mean considered?
Not everything that is sent gets reviewed.
What if I buy an ad?
Buying advertising doesn't guarantee a review. The number of reviews is dictated by space available.
How do you decide who is interviewed?
It's based on the music I'm listening to, and other things that I'm interested in at the time I'm doing each issue. Feel free to keep us updated on when your bands are coming to town, or available for interviews. Outside of that, we'll contact you.
Will you interview my band?
It depends. probably not though, unless I come to you about it.
What if we buy an ad?
Please see above questions. Go ahead and buy an ad anyway though. Drugs aren't cheap.
Do you need any help?
Yes, there is information on that in our "help wanted" section.

Below is a brief idea of exactly what we're looking for. Be prepared to send along samples of your work if applicable and possible. Regular contributors will, under some circumstances, be paid a modest sum for their work. Internship credit can also be worked out.
If you have any questions, or ideas, feel free to Email Us.
Columnists
We are looking regular columnists. The column could have the same theme each issue, or could vary from one to the next. You should definitely have samples ready, and be confident you can write at or above the level in past issues.
Interview and feature writers
We are always interested in interviews, and articles (music-related, or otherwise) from outside sources. This is probably the area we'll be the most picky, especially when it comes to the subject. We will usually be able to help you get the interview itself, especially if it is music related.
Photography
Music-related stuff is what we're most after, though it's flexible. If it is music related, we can again usually help you get photo passes, and entrance to shows to shoot.
Reviews
We are always looking for good record, zine, or book reviewers. Right now, we're looking for at least one more good book reviewer, and possibly another record reviewer or two under the right cirucmstances.
